The company LOXIN 2002 has succeeded in automating the riveting process. The multi-axis robots are positioned to the left and right of the jacked-up aircraft fuselage in the production area of a large aircraft manufacturer. They are assembled on platforms that can be moved to a height of several metres via linear units. Once at the correct height, the robot moves along six axes to the operating point with millimetre precision. It drills a hole into the metal, mills a recess for the rivet head, vacuums off the dust, applies a sealant and sets the rivet.
What was needed: Multi-axis energy chain system triflex R with retraction system triflex RSE, twisterchain
Requirements: Reduce the number and weight of cables, avoid downtimes and cable breaks
Industries: Aerospace, aircraft construction
Success for the customer: Thanks to triflex 3D cable guides, the robots' mobility has improved, which leads to savings in assembly times.
