Our high-performance polymers for the food sector are lubrication-free and can be sterilised with hot steam and cleaned with chemical substances without any problems. They thus fulfil essential requirements for use in food processing machines and production processes (food safety). The blue colouring also makes them easy to detect. In addition, they offer all the typical igus advantages such as freedom from maintenance, simple installation and low-noise and low-vibration operation.

Linear axes with motor and control system for efficient and synchronised format adjustments
Our Apiro gearboxes enable easy format adjustment because they are modular, can be quickly retrofitted into existing systems and are cost-effective. In this way, time and costs can be saved.
Aggressive environmental conditions (cleaning, extreme temperatures, dust and dirt), high hygiene standards, long service life with continuous operation, fast and flexible format adjustments ... The requirements in the packaging, food and beverage industries are manifold. Here you can find out more about the successful use of our motion plastics by our customers.
Increased wear resistance and corrosion resistance for packaging machines
Specifically in an industry reliant on quick, precise processing under hygienic and cost-effective conditions, the combination of Kolsterising and high-performance polymers is expected to become the standard ...
Compliant with FDA and EU regulations
For use with temperatures up to +180 °C
Lubrication and maintenance-free
In the largest plastics test laboratory in the industry, iglidur plain bearings and drylin linear technology are put through their paces. Among other things, they are tested for resistance to media (e.g. cleaning media), and for continuous loading and low-noise operation. The results are entered into our tools to calculate service life and allow for precise predictions regarding their durability.
Upon request, igus carries out customer tests to check product use under completely customised conditions.
